PRESS RELEASE – Tax Administration of Kosovo and the State Prosecutor are determined to fight against and prevent the informal economy

TAK Director-General, Ilir Murtezaj, met today with Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, with whom he discussed about the aspects related to the prevention and fight against the criminal offenses of fiscal evasion, phenomena which greatly undermine the country’s economy.

During this meeting, they also discussed the deepening of inter-institutional cooperation between the Tax Administration of Kosovo and the State Prosecutor.

TAK Director-General, Ilir Murtezaj, stated that his priority is the fight against and prevention of fiscal evasion, and regarding this, he added that support from the State Prosecution is much needed.

Whereas, Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, stressed that the main priority of the State Prosecutor is the fight against organized crime, corruption, economic crimes, financial crimes and other criminal offenses, in which case he added that TAK will have full support in this regard.

Both parties agreed to engage in intensifying the cooperation between these two institutions, in order to increase efficiency in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes.
