Today in Ljubljana, Slovenia is being held the annual meeting of the Coordination/Steering Council between the International Monetary Fund – European Commission, the Swiss Confederation of Economic Cooperation and the Financial Centre in Ljubljana, which aims to present the achievements, lessons learned and challenges of tax administrations and public finance management institutions. Representatives from 6 countries in the region are participating in this meeting. A discussion topic was also the current reforms in tax administrations and what is planned to be achieved with their implementation.
At this meeting, the Tax Administration of Kosovo is represented by the General Director Ilir Murtezaj. The latter presented the current reform named “Improvement of Compliance in the Construction Sector”, which has recently started to be implemented. Using this new contemporary approach, TAK intends to structure the activities based on identified risk groups, using a range of interventions in order to address the causes of behaviours leading to non-compliance and assessing the success of interventions according to their impact on the taxpayer’s behaviour.
TAK appreciates international organizations for the support provided to institutional capacity building and we are enthusiastic to implement the 3-year support plan from international organizations.
