PRESS RELEASE – The Vocational Education program continues

Within the Continuing Professional Education program, on 4 May 2023, the next informative session was held in cooperation with the Society of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Kosovo, with the following topics:

 

  1. APPLICATION OF THE VAT REVERSE CHARGE FOR SERVICES PURCHASED OUTSIDE KOSOVO;
  2. APPLICATION OF THE VAT REVERSE CHARGE IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR;
  3. THE CHARGEABLE EVENT OF VAT;
  4. THE RIGHT TO DEDUCT VAT; and
  5. ADJUSTMENTS OF VAT DEDUCTIONS.

 

Through this session, the members of SCAAK have been informed about the application of the VAT reverse charge both for services purchased outside Kosovo and for services in the field of construction within the territory of Kosovo.

More specifically, through this seminar/EVP, detailed clarifications were provided on how and when the VAT reverse charge should be applied for services purchased outside Kosovo and services in the field of construction within the country, who are the persons obliged to apply the reverse charge, how should the invoicing be done when the reverse charge is applied, how is VAT calculated when the reverse charge is applied, how should VAT be deducted when reverse charge is applied, what are the construction services for which reverse charge should be applied, etc. Also, the participants have been informed about the consequences that may arise according to the tax legislation in cases where the VAT reverse charge is not applied.

Also, through this seminar/EVP, detailed clarifications were provided regarding the moment the VAT liability arose, the right to VAT deduction, as well as the adjustments of VAT deductions.

In this seminar/EVP, examples and exercises were also presented to make it possible to understand correctly all the above-mentioned topics.

During this seminar, participants asked various questions related to the presented topics, as well as other questions related to the Tax Legislation. Adequate answers were provided by the presenter of the seminar for all the questions posed by the participants.
