Biography of the Director of the Information Technology Department, Mr. Agron Hamiti
Agron Hamiti has over 20 years of professional experience in the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK), where he has made significant contributions in areas such as: Risk management, strategic planning, project management and digitalization of institutional processes. He currently serves as the Director of the Information Technology Department, leading the digital transformation and technological modernization processes of TAK. Through this role, he has contributed to increasing operational efficiency and improving tax services for citizens and businesses.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Hamiti served as Director of the Department for Planning and Risk Management, where he contributed to the development of policies and mechanisms for the identification and management of tax risks, as well as in building analytical capacities within the institution. He has led far-reaching reform projects, collaborating closely with international institutions such as the IMF, the World Bank and the European Union, including the drafting of the National Strategy for Combating the Informal Economy, the ATK Strategy and the Tax Compliance Strategy, as well as projects for the digital modernization of tax administration processes.
Agron Hamiti graduated from the University of Prishtina and holds a Master of Science in Management and Informatics. He is also an IMF-certified assessor in the TADAT (Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool) program, and has attended professional training, including specialized courses and programs in tax administration, leadership, risk management, and digitalization of institutional processes. With his extensive experience and strategic approach to innovation, Agron Hamiti is considered one of the leading experts in the field of tax reforms and digitalization of tax processes.
