Biography of Acting Deputy Director General 2, Mr. Sami Salihu
Sami Salihu is a renowned expert in the field of taxation, with over two decades of experience in the administration and implementation of tax policies in Kosovo. He has been part of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) since its establishment in 2000, making a significant contribution to the institutional development and consolidation of the tax system in the country.
During his career, Mr. Salihu has held important leadership positions, including: Head of the Audit Team, Tax Advisor for Value Added Tax, Head of the Taxpayer Service Department, and currently serves as Deputy Director General of TAK, with responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the tax administration.
His expertise includes the development and implementation of tax legislation, drafting administrative instructions, public decisions and internal procedures, always with a focus on transparency, efficiency and compliance with international standards. He is active in various working groups and projects aimed at strengthening institutional capacities and improving the tax climate in Kosovo.
Through his continuous commitment to educating and assisting taxpayers, Mr. Salihu has significantly influenced the improvement of the understanding and implementation of tax legislation, being recognized as one of the leading professionals in the field in the country.
For nearly two decades, he has also been a lecturer of Domestic and International Taxation modules at the Institute of Accounting, Auditing and Finance (IKAF), where he dedicatedly contributes to building professional capacities through training and education in the field of tax legislation and international best practices.
Mr. Salihu completed his studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Prishtina, majoring in Finance - Accounting, as well as postgraduate studies (Master) in the field of finance and management. He has attended a series of professional trainings at home and abroad, with a focus on tax administration, fiscal policy and public management.
