From third party received information, on 4 October 2016, and acting in accordance with the operational plan and in cooperation with Police Economic Crimes Unit and Customs of Kosovo, we have conducted a search at the entities exercising Games of Chance activities in the municipality of Prishtina and Podujeva.
During this action, the tax inspectors have encountered games of chance entities that conduct activities contrary to Law no. 04/L-080 on Games of Chance.
As a result, during the inspection at these entities are found legal violations as follows:
- The exercise of sport betting-games activity prohibited under law on Games of Chance, such as (keno and dog racing).
- Found tickets without identification logo of the company/organizer of the games of chance.
- Use of unlicensed sport betting slot machines.
Measures taken upon this activity are as follows: seizing of unlicensed sport betting slot machines, entities fined for irregularities, imposed administrative and other penalties as provided for by the Law on Games of Chance.
In the first nine months of this year the Department on Games of Chance has conducted 711 visits, of which 90 locations are closed. Fines issued for this period, against entities operating in contrary to the Law, amounted to EUR 360.250.
