The General Director of the Tax Administration of Kosovo, Mr. Ilir Murtezaj, today hosted the State Prosecutor and the National Coordinator for Combating Economic Crime, Mr. Kujtim Munishi.
The meeting was held in the spirit of institutional cooperation and with the aim of further strengthening inter-institutional coordination in the field of the fight against economic crime and tax evasion.
During the meeting, current challenges were discussed, as well as the identification and prosecution of illegal activities that harm the tax system and the country’s economy. The importance of exchanging information and developing professional capacities was emphasized, as well as the need to take joint actions in cases where serious violations of the law are identified.
Director Murtezaj expressed the full readiness of TAK to be a reliable partner in the process of financial investigations and law enforcement, emphasizing that the fight against economic crime is among the key priorities of the institution he leads.
On the other hand, Prosecutor Munishi highly praised the cooperation so far with the Tax Administration and emphasized that the coordination of actions between relevant institutions is essential to have a more efficient and structured approach in combating phenomena that violate the order and economic development of the country.
Mutual cooperation between the two institutions guarantees the integrity of the fiscal system in the Republic of Kosovo.
