The Tax Administration of Kosovo reminds all persons who generate income, that based on the tax legislation they are obliged to declare and pay tax obligations correctly.
Based on the Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and the Risk Management Plan for 2023, TAK has drawn up the Action Plan to improve the tax compliance of wealthy persons regarding their tax obligations for Personal Income Tax, which are determined by the tax legislation. Through this plan, TAK will carry out activities with the aim of identifying wealthy persons who do not declare and pay tax obligations correctly.
The purpose of the “Wealthy Persons” Project is to identify wealthy persons using a database in the form of a system/platform which enables communication with governmental, non-governmental, financial institutions for the purpose of tax treatment of this category, increasing the number of declarations and tax payments by this category of taxpayers, as well as reducing the tax gap as a result of non-declaration of income by persons with high incomes.
The scope of this project will be extended to the category of persons as follows:
- Category I – Person whose wealth is over 1 million Euros to 5 million Euros;
- Category II – Person whose wealth is over 5 million Euros to 10 million Euros;
- Category III – Person whose wealth is over 10 million Euros to 20 million Euros; and
- Category IV – Person whose wealth is over 20 million Euros.
The Tax Administration of Kosovo called on all persons to fulfill all tax obligations stipulated by the tax legislation, namely to declare and pay the tax correctly, otherwise, the measures defined by the tax legislation will be taken.
By fulfilling your tax obligations, you contribute directly to the provision of public services, high-standard education, better health and social services, legal protection and security, and general infrastructure for sustainable economic and social well-being.
Pay the taxes, strengthen the state!
