The Kosovo Tax Administration has launched today the newest electronic service, which enables the provision of a Tax Residency Certificate digitally. This service was presented at a joint meeting organized by TAK, in which the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Mr Hekuran Murati, the General Director of TAK, Mr Ilir Murtezaj, Mr Arben Salihu, representative of GIZ, and Mr Kushtrim Canolli from the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo participated.
This development marks an important step in the modernization of Tax Administration services, eliminating time and financial costs for a large number of taxpayers. Through this electronic service, taxpayers will be able to apply for a tax residency certificate without having to physically visit TAK offices, thus contributing to increased efficiency and transparency in administrative processes.
Minister Murati praised this step as a concrete example of the digitalization of the administration and the easing of the administrative burden for citizens and businesses. “The digitalization of public services remains one of our top priorities, and this new electronic service demonstrates our commitment to building a more accessible and efficient administration,” declared Minister Murati.
On the other hand, Director Murtezaj emphasized the importance of this service for taxpayers and the institution’s commitment to continue with other innovations in the future. “This important process of digitizing the Tax Residency Certificate has been made possible thanks to the support of the EU Office in Kosovo and GIZ. Through the expertise and technical assistance provided, the Kosovo Tax Administration has been helped to modernize its services.” Murtezaj said that the automation of the CRT marks the 58th service in a row provided by the EDI e-declaration platform.
Meanwhile, Mr Salihu said that, for us, as GIZ, it is a special pleasure to be part of this project, which represents an important step towards the modernization of public administration and the digitalization of services in Kosovo. The launch of the electronic service for tax residency certificates is clear evidence that commitment and cooperation between institutions, such as the Kosovo Tax Administration and international partners, can bring concrete results that improve the quality of services for citizens and businesses.
The project was implemented with the support of the EU Office in Kosovo and GIZ, and is part of the ongoing efforts to modernize public services in Kosovo.
