On 12 and 13 June 2024, the General Director of TAK, Mr Ilir Murtezaj, participated in the annual coordination meeting in Vienna, organized by the Fiscal Affairs Department FAD – International Monetary Fund IMF, the Directorate-General of the EC for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) as well as SECO.
This meeting takes place between beneficiary countries, development partners and the IMF which is a key component for coordinating reform efforts and is a good opportunity for the beneficiaries of the capacity development program to share their experiences and challenges in implementing the fiscal reforms and to discuss their reform priorities for the future.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss progress in the implementation of the third phase program of fiscal reforms in Southeast Europe 2023-2026, to better understand the authorities’ perspectives on reform efforts and priorities in order to inform capacity development support.
The Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF has prepared and presented the regional comparative document on issues of regional interest, to present the context for the interventions of the authorities from the participating countries.
During his speech, General Director, Mr Ilir Murtezaj, thanked the IMF and development partners for the opportunity provided and the contribution made so far, as well as requested further support for reforms in TAK.
